Additional Aquarium Information

What do you think are the keys to your success in reefing?
Patience
I feel ya brother. I used to pop them off the pier pilings with a paint scraper at low tide when I was a kid. Fish with some and eat some. We did use Tabasco though, so maybe that helped?
yeah, tobasco, lemon juice and whisky!

For over two months this is all my female clown does, just hangs out in front of the cave that the royal gramma is holding out in. I thought she would get bored. The sixline wrasse that was added after has free reign. She is such a beach! I want a free swimming royal gramma like I had before!

Wow that is crazy Kevin. What a bully. That reminds me of the yellow damsel I had. He even knocked my sandbed corals over and jammed them into the glass!

Morning/afternoon? Been answering unanswered threads. Got sent this message.

You definitely do put in the work, young man. With that work ethic and genuine concern for other people, you'll go far in your life.

If you have the par absolutely! I plan to get a few clams when I upgrade and a blue maxima is on my list, I love them.
I have no idea what the par is. honestly, I could guess from this light and distance of what it should be. They just finished making my brackets and shipping the part to me now. will post when I get it and installed. they did send pictures. they even painted it for me ;-)

That is awesome! I can't wait to see you put them in.
Dont laugh at me, but I've heard some decent things about the phone par meter app. I downloaded it, but haven't tried it out.

Oh wait, I wasn’t supposed to laugh at you!

@luis angel Sorry about your corals man. I definitely feel that for you brother. Are you spot feeding them a bit heavier while the p04 is down? That would also be a good way to help raise it, while making sure the corals are fed.

Is installing a doggie door an option?
We have one but with his brother's bad legs it can't be open while we're gone so we closed it up. 😢

thoughts on a maxima clam? should I get one or no? I heard if they die, they nuke the tank. seems the 1.5-2" size is plentiful.
I think they are beautiful, I had one. A few nights ago I found the clam shell on the sand bed completely cleaned out with not a piece of meat left. A few hours before that it was fine. No idea what happened but I will not be getting one again after that, too expensive for me.

This is what they made.

Tipping the last of the water into the ATO
Looks like everyone had a blast, love that creek. Throw some crawdad traps out
My brother's family have eaten crawdads out of that creek. It has tons of fresh mussels too, but Fish and Game says they're not safe to eat

So tired of aiptasia...
20250714_141741.jpg
Cleared out the left side
Took all the rocks, put them in a 5 gallon bucket with a gallon of vinegar and tap water.
I'm gonna kill everything on and in these rocks but I've got plenty of rock left for the biological filter.
The 2 fish definitely love the swimming space that's for sure.

I still have my 2 shrimp in their bucket so I put a ton of rock, my used to be beautiful zoa rock in there and changed the water.
They've got a heater and airstone.
I bug them a lot.
I like to know if they're alive.
I decided to just leave them be for awhile with the rock and see what happens.
They are very small and I'm going to stop by petco tomorrow and pick up a few more if they have them.
