good morning peeps!
so I got my fuzzy chitons in the pool Tuesday around noon. they come on clam shells. Thursday night one of them "finally" crawled out of the shell and went ~6" on the rock. this morning, he's back in the shell

Sideshow Bob and Selma seem fine. No sighting of Flotsam or Jetsam but that’s pretty normal. Nems all closed, even the rock flowers. The bubbles have moved about on the rock, one going inside a large crevice. I think today when the salt gets here I’m going to pull about two gallons and replace with some fresh mixed to 1.023. Should bump it up just a hair. That shouldn’t be too much, in a 70 gallon system, right? In any case the sump is over full so I need to pull some out anyhow.

I've had all kinds of accidents over the years.
Lots of water where it's not supposed to be etc.
The best way I've found to raise salinity is add saltwater to the sump as top off water.
You can do it slowly that way, gradually upping salinity.

This is the level and where it should be. Sump is about 20 gallons when filled up this high

I would do it manually, after the parameters are adjusted you will have to remove the ATO reservoir to clean it properly because it will have salt, IMO

@tbrown I grabbed a few trochus today. The nassarius hoard grabbed the slowest one to make it on the glass. Brutal

I always try to start new snails on the glass or rocks.

Im sitting on my laptop doing electrical code... the 45 hour course is going to take 60 or 70 hours.... but, im not at work so thats cool I suppose. Drinking lots of coffee and havent even bothered to put pants on

If you've got a spare pump or even a yogurt container, etc I'd just remove some water from the ATO and add saltwater to that.
Really won't matter after a while anyways.
You've got a way to go bringing it up and you can get that water pretty much to zero salinity after time.
Or just do a water change with slightly saltier water.
Changing 5 gallons, 10 gallons with 1.023 won't hurt anyone in there.
That'll raise it just a touch.
