Additional Aquarium Information

What do you think are the keys to your success in reefing?
Patience
Sorry I have been quite I was not happy with the tank is setup for the pea puffer I'm getting so I rescaped it. Still not totally happy with it and have a few other things I want to try but I ran out of time tonight. This has been a hard tank to scape because it's tall and narrow. I just feel like the piece of driftwood I have in it right now is too wide and takes up too much substrate space. I think spider wood would be better but the pieces I have are too big and I don't want to cut them. Lol First picture is now, 2nd is before.
Like it Amanda!

Thank you my friend. You know what they say sometimes we are our own worst critics. My puffer is supposed to be here Thursday so I want to be sure I like it before it gets here.

This is my 45 gallon tall show tank.
Everything in here, fish wise, my son sort of donated to dad, if you will 😉

I've had nothing but issues with this tank.
Mostly fighting green cyano for it seems like ever.

I had a couple pea puffers years ago.

And yes, I completely understand!
I've never been happy with my tank but beauty I guess they say is in the eye of the beholder.
We all can see all the problems with our own stuff whereas others may not.

I like it a lot! Are you sure its cyano? The worst algea I have ever fought was Black Bush Algea I still have some but it's not as bad as it was.

I had some I guess about 10 years ago maybe more and forgotten how cute they are until a friend and I were taking about setting up a small tank for her when she moves next month and she mentioned she liked them.

So true!

It looks okay right now, hoping I turned the corner.
Fingers crossed 🤞.
New light.
Best thing I did I think is replace the canister filter with a small hob filled with rowaphos and carbon, lowered the lighting started using ro water
I don't know what I'm doing lol 😅 just trying 😅.

Sometimes that's the best way to fight algea. Just keep throwing things at it until something works! Lol

I agree lol 😆
The cyano would cover everything in a matter of hours, especially the plants and just suffocate them.
The tank smelled horrible, worse than a dirty skimmer.
Fish were okay but much happier now ☺️

4th infusion went well. Just tired and achy again. Followed my previous policy and took tomorrow off. The infusions are farther apart after this.

Cut and restarted phyto. I had neglected it a bit and thought the nanno might crash, but I fed it and it recovered.

Took a few full tank shots today. The birdsnest is back in the sand because it got knocked off again and I moved the Plum Hammer to where it can start to get more light. Here is one of the shots:

I love the way you used the aquarocks shelves. That looks natural and blends in well.

She's a beautiful dog but her likeness to a chessie is purely coincidental. 😄
Dang, her face looks just like my old chessie! On closer inspection, her coat doesn't look quite curly enough LOL Beautiful dog, even if she isn't a chessie! :)
