Additional Aquarium Information

What do you think are the keys to your success in reefing?
Patience
when I had an accident a hundred years ago, I remember the insurance got jacked up so we registered one car with a different insurance company and listed me as a part time driver as a shared vehicle rather than 3 vehicles/3 drivers. On the good thing for my kids though, their schools elementary through high school are walkable of < 1 mile so a 20 minute walk at most.
That helps for sure.

ah ,,no water changes here..stopped doing them years ago...but did do a 150 gallons when I redid the over flow drains and returns..
Now I am making room in the sump, doing away with the filter mats (aka filter socks etc) and sponges. been reading do research going to just remove it all and let the system balance out naturally.
Since my sump is only two chambers and it is 6 feet long, going to build a small "trap box" to insert into the sump, what I am calling it, to have the water from tank drain into it, to quite the water and cause any big items to settle in the trap box .
Box will be about 9x4x12 tall...my sump sits at 8 inch water depth..
Going to use 180 degree elbows inside this box to help with water splash.
I did a test inside the sump with 180 degree elbow and it make the water almost quite and no splashing ...
Been chatting with people, they say corals much happier more nutrients and copods population grows.
Adding a Reef Octopus 110 INT to the system for ozone clean up and let the Reef Octopus 300 be the main.
Oh coffee ready

Been also reading and chatting with people with huge tanks their belief is by removing the mechanical filter socks, pads etc the tank does not have so much swing in PO4,Nitrate etc because there is not this constant changing of felt media which traps stuff.
See how it works here,

Hey @kingranch2003 , this is my wife and mine’s cousin and her band. She has been a lead singer in multiple bands for decades and then a few years ago she started her own band so she could pick and sing the music she wanted.

Wait a minute... You and your wife have the same cousin???

once you get the rhythm it will jive and be easier. pending you WC schedule, I would make extra RO and put in closed containers to make it convenient. Closed so it doesn't acquire anything to increase TDS or pick up say...stray cleaning chemicals if someone is washing windows nearby etc...
I always like to have a little RO on hand to clean the tank; it's the best thing I've tried without having to worry about chemicals, and it doesn't leave a single mark.

You mean the new Gulf of America 😄! I am so confused us old guys resist change...
Same here. It seemed like a pointless thing to do in my opinion. Ive never heard a local call it Gulf of America.
It's just "Da Gulf" lol

Midway through my WC. Frogot to heat my saltwater... Did I just mess up? It's 60 degrees outside and I have one heater.
