Additional Aquarium Information

What do you think are the keys to your success in reefing?
Patience
I've never seen anything like em Kevin. I had to have one. Then corals.comhas a cool "pick your freebie" sale going on rn
yeah I’m not 100% convinced it’s a nutrient issue but I’m going do a blackout raise phosphate a little and add some more flow this week

I took my nitrates from 60 to 15 over the course of 4 months by changing 15 gallons a week on a 75g tank Cam.
Although some people say you can do 100%water changes or very large ones I didn't want to shock my system this way.
Before doing anything drastic like frequent large changes you MUST get something to test with and test it yourself.
Learn how to test, learn how to read the test.
Learn WHY you are testing 🙂
For 2 weeks, change 15 gallons once a week then test.
Each week change on the same day.
Test before. See if 15 gallons brings nitrates down.
See if they stay there.
So for me right now, if I change 10% every Monday, my nitrates will remain the same.
So, say they're 50,I change 10 gallons they go to 45 but by the next Monday, they're at 50 again.
Understand?
But if I change 15, they'll slowly creep down over a longer period but by a small amount.
So my system gains 5 nitrate per week.
Does that make sense at all?
Now if I added more rock, it might help.
So you are using water changes to judge your nitrification process in your tank, whether it be through coral using it or rock using it
Long story short, go slow.
I'm not the best at explaining myself.
Made sense to me

Today is our annual free Veterans day meal, since we are closed on Tuesday, actual Veterans day.
It's something my wife and I have been doing for over 10 years and it's one of my favorite days.
But wish me luck...
That's awesome Joel. God bless you man!

Hey John. Thanks for checking in. I’m alive lol. Super busy at the farm and traveling for my daughter’s soccer. Hope everyone is doing well.
