Additional Aquarium Information

What do you think are the keys to your success in reefing?
Patience
I was going to ask how your berghia were working out Tom.
The group I had before were very effective but eventually died out as there were no more Aiptasia they could get to. I thought I had gotten all of the stragglers on the return, in the sump, and on the rear shelves but there must have been a few I missed as they came back a bit after the Berghia died out. I have a full blown Aiptasia farm at the moment. The Berghia I added from @ReefEngineer looked very healthy so I have high hopes for them. They've been in the tank since the night of Nov. 25th so just under two weeks. Last time it took about two weeks before I started to see evidence of their handiwork so I should start to see something soon (although my previous Berghia crew was twice as large). My wife thinks she sees a few spots that are sans Aiptasia now so we will see.

Have you seen the berghia themselves?

Agreed. You couldn't pay me to put another shrimp in my tank. He just about killed all my LPS and some softies. So many corals were effected, I thought I had BJD or some other infection. Berghia aren't cheap, but neither is replacing corals you've got to replace.
I never lost anything with mine . After the aiptasia was gone it started eating the flake and pellet food .

Not since they entered the tank but I only saw two of the ten I introduced last time once after they were introduced. My rockwork is a lot more open than it looks (the Bristletooth loves to go from end too end of the tank through the center of the rockwork, the Firefish rarely comes all the way out of its cave and the Possum is rarely visible during the day--the only fish always visible is the Foxface as it has to hang under the ledge of an Aqua Rocks when it is hiding or resting. Its too big and 'chunky' to fit through the rockwork) so they can be plenty of places that I cannot see. I also rarely see the Pitho Crabs although I know there are at least two still alive in the tank, I haven't seen any of the Bumblebee snails since I added them, etc.

I’ve lost him to a melanarus wrasse but he took down a mountain of aiptasia . He lasted for about two months on fish food . But all aiptasia never came back and it’s been a couple years since .

I love him ❤️
Gorgeous Bev, so many beautiful color morphs since I was a kid. I remember coming back to our cave after a woolly mammoth hunt with the other male clan members and after painting that day’s hunt on my parents cave wall I would sit and relax and watch my red beta.

My son texted me on his way home from work to see if I needed anything from the our lfs.

I was looking to add porcelain crab (s) to my display tank. was waiting to see if the local petco would get them in. If not will have to order. Don't have to have the fancy anemone crab

You would be correct sir! His exoskeleton is darkening, about to molt.

Thanks!

Last week I saw him, but didn’t have the money. They sent a message Sunday telling me to stop in as they had something for me. Turns out, it was him!

He’s now in the 15 flex chasing the orange shrimp lol.

Ive definitely heard of people getting good ones. Anytime a coral had food in its mouth the shrimp would pry them open to get the food. In the morning everything had gaping mouths and we're retracted. Once I witnessed the shrimp doing this, I gave him to my wife for her fowlr invert tank. All the corals improved and I never had the issue again.
