hey @tharbin how are the berghia doing for you?

They are in a 5.5 gallon grow out tank and eating one or two Aips per day. I had a few false starts on making a safe grow out tank for them and I think I ended up losing one or two in my last mis-step but I'll know more in the morning. The little buggers can fit through amazingly small openings and will follow water and darkness anywhere, even through a HOB filter. They have grown to one and a half to two times their original size. I'd like to see a few egg coils before I move any to the main tank. I'll probably write up my last escapade in my tank thread tomorrow so I have a contest entry.

TLDR; Small and Medium size Berghia are small, if they are also all white, they are probably very hungry and a little weak. Better to bulk them up before introduction.

According to brs, I should only be making 1.5 times the amount of waste water as I am making rodi with the system I have so I would say a booster pump is going to be a must have. Of course I could install a pressure tank on the whole house as well.

So, I guess I'm going to have to buy a booster pump for my rodi. I'm only getting about 40 psi from the house and I think it's causing me to make an extreme amount of water water.

You should have at least 65 psi for dual membranes so yes you need a booster but they are helpful even for a single membrane setup, the higher pressure will improve your yield. Having working TDS meters and a pressure gauge are hugh improvements. Congratulations on where you are at with your RODI.

One of the thing I did to prevent baby shrimp in my freshwater tank from getting into my HOB filter for freshwater is I add a sponge over the opening which may help you. They sell sponges that fit on HOB filters as well.

A pump to get you over 80 psi
