Idk man. You don't have a salinity tester either?
And it also depends on the salt but with that it mind , ruffly one half cup of salt will get you one gallon of water right near that level you need 1.026

It's nothing for me to guess on from a secondary location. The simple answer ks add salt. How much, he'll have to mix and test.

wait....10.17? I'm assuming he meant 1.017. somewhere I thought there was a calculator that you plug in how many gallons you have, the current salinity, the desired salinity and it would spit back the value of grams of salt to add or volume of RO but I could not find it.

But as others said 1/2 a cup of salt to 1 gal of water. I haven't used many varieties of salt but is there any that have a different ratio? I also always keep it the same, mark a jug off with exact gallons of RODI on the side, then add 1/2 a cup for every gallon. I have 5, 6 and 7 gallon jugs so it makes it easier and quicker later. I just happened to be making RODI today so I can free myself up tomorrow.

I just mix right in the jugs. you can drop in a heater and even a small powerhead.

these jugs are pretty solid, have a dispenser and are inexpensive. $18 at Walmart right now, and Cabelas/Bass Pro has as well.

Just add salt then. You can use the calculator or do it gradually and check. If it makes 1.026 with x amount if you are at 1.015 then you just need to add the amount at 42% times the number of gallons you are mixing.

Essentially if it says to add 0.5 cups of salt per gallon and you have 5 gallons. The change between 1.015 and 1.026 is 42% so you would go from 2.5 cups to ~1.06 cups added to take you from 1.015 to 1.026.
I added half a cup

I have had two cups and am thinking about a third.
I started with a McCafe Strawberries and Creme (not my favorite, but caffeine) K-CUP and then, after practice, I grab a Nespresso and a Meat Lovers Egg Bowl from the cafe at church.

We all know your secretly a Swede. Pretending like you like Gumbo but realistically you like ricola lozenges
I read that as ricotta lozenges. I love ricotta lozenges.

Maintenance day and mixing some AFR in the "lab".
My weekly maintenence is a water change, clean the parts of the glass that I don't hit during the week, cleaning the in tank filter and disassembling MP-10 wetsides to clean and lube. I also clean off the lights, vacuum any dust out of the housing.
I hope everyone is having a great day!!

How do like your mixing plate? I just finished priming and programming my doser. Now I need to get a mixing plate and 1 liter beaker to start making AFR. I just used the pre-mixed until I was sure I liked it.

I need to get a mixing plate. Do you know how long you have to shake a bottle of afr to get it to mix? I made 3 bottles yesterday and my arm felt like it was going to fall off.

Makes it SUPER easy. I put the AFR powder in and let it mix while I'm doing other stuff. I can post the one I got and the gram scale.
It says to use 6 level scoops (160g) per liter, however 6 scoops came out to between 170-171 grams every time I measured it out. I did it to see how close I would be. I did this 5 times and never had 6 scoops equal 160g. I'd measure it in a separate small beaker, dump it back in the AFR container and repeat.
If you dont want to be exact, the 6 level scoops will be SLIGHTLY higher concentration.

No idea, I've just used the pre-mix initially but I did watch a video from someone and they recommended using a mixing plate because it takes a fair amount of time, even on a plate. I'm sure someone on here knows since using the dry is the 'sane' expenditure.
