Sorry I asked for photos and then disappeared for the rest of the day. So these are basically containers for plants that hang inside the aquarium? It the issue with the ones you buy that it doesn't fit over your rim or that it is too loose. I would assume doesn't fit over. So, do you have a 'standard' rimmed tank like an Aqueon/Marineland/Top Fin/etc. or something more like a eurobrace? Those containers look fairly large which could mean it would take large expensive magnets to do it that way. I refuse to do magnets in underwater gear as I just don't trust myself to do it well enough but I think Tim built something with magnets, no idea how it worked out. What might work is to make hangers to adapt those containers to fit your rim.

The magnets didn't work unfortunately.

Does anyone else get the urge to buy stuff for their aquariums when they do any kind of work on them? Today I finally moved the corals I bought months and months ago up off the sand and put them in what might be their permanent homes. I didn't have any super glue so I couldn't attach them but hopefully they won't get knocked off until I can pick some up. I also added an ATO to my 75 gallon freshwater tank that the company sent me to replace one i ordered that didn't work but then the first one started working so I had an extra. Anyways now I'm looking at the tanks and wishing I could order more corals for the saltwater or some more plants for the freshwater but sadly I'm a broke white girl with too many expensive hobbies... Also I will post pictures later but right now there is way too much glare from the windows to get decent ones. I wonder if I should start a go fund me like Kevin did... ROFL

I always siphoned my sand! Would say an urchin, but it barely did anything to my sand. My Watchman cleaned the sand but just ended up making mountains out of it

I like Nassarius snails and Cerith snails personally. Or a Tiger or Strawberry conch. Yours is a 125 so I'd do 10 or 12 Nassarius snails, 25 or 30 Ceriths, and maybe 2 conches.

I have a urchin he doesn't really stay on the sand much.

I do have some of both those snails already but have no idea how many are still in there. I could order more tidy because I haven't added any cleanup crew in a very long time.

Ceriths and Nassarius are good for detritus in the sand. Conches as well. I currently have some Nassarius and a Sand Sifting star. I don't recommend the star as, long term, they have a horrible track record for survival.

I'd say 2 Strawberry Conches if you can (or Tigers). Add a couple of Nassarius as well and then Ceriths are great for all around - glass, rocks, sand, giving hermits new homes, algae, detritus, etc.

Also, consider some dwarf Ceriths. Maybe 200 or 300... I think I did 100 in my old 125 and rarely saw them. Always under the sand (and in the bellies of my Wrasses...).
