Additional Aquarium Information

What do you think are the keys to your success in reefing?
Patience
I love my 125s but they are 6ft long.
What brand? I would be down for a 6ft 125. Also do you have a sump?

Just noticed you have a tank thread! Following along and I got some reading!

I bought both of them used and I'm not sure what brand they are so I'm not much help. I have a 55 gallon that was made into a sump on the 125 that is saltwater.

No worries! Have a great night 🍾

Ok, I’m freaking out, I’m not going to lie. I have diatoms and I’m afraid they will crash my new tank. I’m thinking of doing a total tear down! I’ll wait to post a picture until my tank lights are on 100% blues. My parameters are perfect, don’t ask for actual numbers because they are perfect.
No need to panic, this is I suppose a normal diatom phase in a new tank. Diatoms feed on silicates from new sand and rock and usually disappear on their own as the tank matures. The best solution is patience, keep up regular maintenance, and let the system stabilize. A small clean-up crew can help, but tearing the tank down will only reset the process, time is the real cure here I think
Honestly, I don't know what else to tell you other than what everyone recommends, because when I upgraded the tanks, I used the same rocks and my entire filtration system, and I think that helped me skip that process.

I was just trying to act like a noob. 🤣

I dose my tanks with silicates to cause diatom outbreaks 😁

Only one way to get rid of them for good.

So I was the only one who took the bait, lol?
You’re just being helpful but after all these years you of all people should know!
