I use the red sea magnesium but I am not sure if that's the right product it does work. If your LFS does water tests I would see if they can double check the magnesium. As for lights that looks normal I think. In the pictures I guess its just on your moonlight settings so its only white.
I turned the blues down a bit to get the picture.

Ya my comment about it being high was ignoring mag but I see what you mean, I just don't know if everything being high mag can realistically be that depleted can it?
It could be used up quickly by coraline growth also if there is any or how the salt mixes could be off. And of course there IS always the chance that the test could be off also.

Just remember the more you try to do to fix things the more likely you can cause other issues like added stress and possibly a disease outbreak. Sometimes you need to let them chill out. When I got my new Yellow tang I intentionally avoided the tank for a day or two other than feeding and I would sit in a chair far away or he would hide when he was eating. I sometimes even would feed and watch on my wyze camera in a different room as he would not come out. If your constantly looking in the tank that can freak the fish out so maybe feed and watch from far away. Trust me some fish also wait for food to come into their little rock or nook and eat for the first week or two.
It's been in the tank for two weeks

I have honestly contemplated doing a tap water tank out of curiosity to see what happens.
I can dig up some old pics of the nightmare I had back in the early '90's. Your tap water may be better than what i was using. My first priority this time around was water filtration

This is 100% truth here. I use tap water for my tanks (all - fresh and salt) but I have good quality H2O - just hardness and TDS. High alkalinity, high magnesium, decent calcium before I even mix with salt

Tim is Mr. Super Water man so he makes sure all the good water comes to his house while mine is just loaded with phosphates and chloramines 😁

Who knows I'm in Los Angeles so it's probably horrible. My TDS coming in isn't the worst at 140 to 150 but who knows what's in there.

Yeah, no chloramines is nice. Again - DON'T FOLLOW MY EXAMPLE!!!!

I don't use tape water conditioner. I fill my ATO and my salt buckets (and my freshwater aquariums) with the hose. I DO use an RV potable water hose rather than a plain rubber garden hose.

Just moved some Zoa frags over from my other tank to the SR80. I had the green ones already in the tank but thought it was a good time to move some over to test if they can handle the light.

Tank is starting to get some diatoms as well which is great so I moved some clean up crew over.

Do you think not having a true cave is a concern for large fish like fox face and tangs? I could add a rock at the bottom of the overpass but I like keeping it open for flow. I just don’t have any real true caves for hiding unless the fish is small.

Tap water conditioner is definitely necessary, RO is likely going to be recommended.

I'm a firm believer fish need hiding spaces for long term success and to limit stress/aggression. It's one of the hard things to accomplish with a NSA.
