The power strip tripped. It was one that you could push a button and turn off and then back on separate outlets on it. It was shot. Maybe just old.

We replaced it with one from our house for now. And ordered one for the tank.

But looking for a better solution. I want something simple, inexpensive would be nice. That would send me an alert if it fails.

Have since read that the inkbird has an app that could have alerted me. Has anyone tested the inkbird app?

I don't need instant alerts. Within half an hour or so would have allowed me to avert the tragedy of the fish dying.

The reason I asked is that we have power surges from time to time and my pump would go out but when power returned like instantly and it would not come back on . I order a second after talking to the company and it also went dead . I switched it out with a octo varios pump and have never has a problem since . Hope this is helpful !

I just have mine on a APC UPS. we had those little surges too when I had the biocube and would knock the light off. so I did the UPS and it would run that for 3 hours. on this big tank I just have the main pump on it though. but I have the bluetti as the back up.

Yes but I have a or had the power battery supply and it still tripped and the pump did not come back on . It was a very notable company I but still couldn’t get it to automatically turn on . It would come on if the power was out for a while but not for quick power surges . I had this pump for years but when I replaced it maybe they changed something on the new one . But after the new one didn’t work I replaced it and it did the same thing . I switched to octo varios pump and it would come back on as it should .

My main setup costs an exponential amount of money i'm ashamed to admit nor do I want my wife finding out
