just ordered 20 emeralds to help with the bubble algae. local LFS had none. they only have a tank full of Pithos right now.

edit. I figure 1 Emerald per 5 lbs of rock?
I prefer Pithos to Emeralds but I've had good luck with both.

Good morning Peeps! I hope you'all slept well.
Yesterday I found Rice Krispies, my murderous serial killing pistol shrimp dead in his aquarium. I think he was around 4 years old. He had to be moved out of the display because he was eating his goby friends rather than simbiotically dwelling in harmony with them. In spite of his Hannibal Lector tendencies I liked him and he will be missed. 😞
That's why this guy's in s room by himself. There used to be some snails in there. Noy sure how they got there, but haven't seen any for awhile

Im about to give this a run for cyano and a little gha that's popping up in between corals. It's all bacterial non chemical and brightwells claims that it extremely effective vs bubble algae

No not at all . They are some of the nicest cookies around . That probable why Kevin doesn’t like them because he’s only had chalky Chinese stuff .

Will do.

It's not an algicide because is doesn't directly kill algae. Rather it is multplie bacterial strains that can out compete nuisance algae for surface space, and dislodge, detritus, mulm, etc, to then be filtered out of you water. It can also help supply food for your corals. I hope to use it in tandem with reef snow in order to clean the of cyano AND feed the corals
