Hello my friend! Ive been meaning to ask how your scolys were looking these days.

I just have the one scoly but it's doing well and so are the acans.

Just finished a not quite 10% WC and spent some time plucking macro algae that came with the rocks, reached critical mass and needs attention about once a week. Though I am tempted to take the worst 2 rocks by coverage and scrub and rinse with RODI. It is not GHA. Brown , short leaves lobular almost like a clover. Any ideas on what it is ? And will an urchin eat it?

I would really doubt that an urchin wouldn’t eat it Steve.

Yeah that was kinda stupid to ask. They’ll eat almost anything that isn’t flesh.

Good morning nerds! I’m having a bad morning as well. My family physician left me a voicemail last night. I won’t be going to work today but the ER instead to be admitted. I hope he’s wrong but the labs indicated I’m in acute kidney failure, oh jeez. I knew that could happen, before my transplant I was on dialysis for a month and diagnosed with stage three chronic kidney disease and the anti rejection medication is hard on the kidneys. There is a certain percentage of transplant patients, due to the meds, that need a kidney transplant. Good news for you I’ll have a lot of time to be on here with all you wonderful nerds!

Great, until I read Kevin's post.

I spent yesterday designing and printing a couple of prototype pieces for the 40 Breeder frag tank. I recently added a Hydros WaveEngine LE and a Start to the tank. Yesterday I combined them into a collective so that when I press feed mode in the app, the skimmer and filter (both surface feed so they suck up the food before the fish can get it) turn off as well as the two gyre flow pumps. Today I will add a feed schedule that sets the gyres to a low constant flow during feeding instead of turning off completely.

The prints I did yesterday are for mounting the Hydros ATO to the tank as the tank rim gets in the way. I made one print for the RODI ATO feed hose and another for the water level sensor. I'm going to modify the water level sensor one a little to also hold a Hydros temperature probe. It is kind of fun to design the parts but it requires a lot of quiet time to get all of the dimensions to work.

It was hectic this morning but I went to a thrift store near my office during lunch and bought a few things so it's a good day!
