1/2" copper to RODI fitting

Hi, I do my own plumbing..for better or worse...and I am struggling here with what is seemingly a very basic connection. I have a 1/2" copper connection that I need to convert to my 1/4" rodi tubing for inlet. The attached picture is what I need to do..and is a pic from my homes RO unit.

I currently have a compression fitting on there just like the one pictured, but I purchased one with a 1/4" outlet...then I bought a 1/4" FPT to 1/4" mur lock fitting and it just doesnt thread right. Actually, I have purchased about 3-4 different adapters and nothing works. Very frustrating.

If someone can provide a link or something so I can move on with my stalled new build I would greatly appreciate it. :)

Not exactly what you want but I use this on a cold water line under the sink, 3/8x3/8x1/4.

If you still have the original compression fitting for the 1/4" outlet, just connect the tubing directly to that.

Be gentle with tightening it due to the brass ferrule and it should seal without issue.

Otherwise, buy a new valve like this from the local big box store. You might be able to get away with just using the ferrule and compression nut from the new box.

Ohh man....that is embarrassing. I probably threw that out...ohh well...I'll get another one. thank you very much...I don't think I would have thought of that...was fixated on an adapter.

I went to a good Ace Hardware because my new valve was leaking at the RO tubing, so I was able to buy another compression fitting, only cents.

You can also use this with a bypass or just cap the bypass with a small cap from HD

Thank you for that response. As always I made a mountain out of a mole hill. Put on a compression fitting, snugged it down and good to go. Now on to my next procrastination. :)

Go look at the original photo and visualize the original compression fitting with no speed fit adapter lol.
