Looking to add another fish to my system.

Currently the only fish is a small ocellaris clownfish.

Thoughts I've had so far:

Remove clown and replace him with a neon dottyback

Keep clown and add court jester.

Keep clown and add six-line or pygmy wrasse.


I'm happy to hear all suggestions. My nutrients are on the low side as I run a skimmer, HOB, and macro algae

I would not add a wrasse to a tank that small. The wrasse would be too big for that tank. Adding a court jester or a yellow watchman goby would be the best suggestion!

I agree I would drop the wrasse, also drop the neon dottyback..... the tank is too small for semi-aggressive fish. I would stick with gobies or perhaps a blenny.

Would you advise against the dottyback even if it's alone?

Curious as to what you recommend for blennies. I looked into the Buan Sleeper Gobie but I never settled.

Haven't heard too much about red head gobies. That should be a fine pick for your tank as well!

Isn't the minimum tank size for those 15g? I feel like a pink streak and a clownfish in a 10g tank is a disaster waiting to happen

Happy to remove the clown, 15 still feels like too large a difference but its worth noting that I'm completely satisfied with just one fish!

I think you should stick with the clown and get a goby! You'll get more variety in your tank and won't be limited to just one fish! Just make sure your aquascape has enough hiding spots for the goby, and you will be perfectly fine!

especially 6 line, too agressive, would kill everything, and is just too big

yes there is
u can fit a 15 into a 10
and with back wall or everything, it will be less, my tank is only around 6-9 gallons because of rock and stuff

huge personality in a small low bioload body. People on here say I’m obsessed with them but that’s ridiculous. Oh, how about those eye lashes!

If memory serves, I did have a small one in my 5 gallon SPS dominated pico tank. It had an ACJr and a 50W halide LOL. Small tanks are more work than large tanks IMO. 6 line in a 10G falls under the category of YMMV
