I've got a question for ya. You said you were dosing some type of bacteria to help the pellets... What are you dosing and how much/often? I am curious if I start dosing some form of bacteria to help combat the HA I have growing...

Daily five gallon water changes.

I've been dosing MicrobeLift Special Blend, it was less for the pellets but more for the cyano and dinos I've been dealing with. You used Marco rock, right? What are your nitrates and phosphates testing at?

I had issues with my Marco rock as well. My nitrates and phosphates never ran high, but instead of cyano and dinos I got bryopsis. I wish I would have found the cure alot quicker. Would have saved a lot of coral.:squigglemouth:

When I first set this tank up with the Marco I had a pretty bad hair algae break out that the pellets seemed to kill off.

Yes, I used Marco rock. Nitrates were slightly above undetectable and phosphates were at 0.06 down from 0.12. I tested this past weekend. How often and how much of the Microbelift are you dosing? Where do you dose it at? Just into the sump or into the pump that feeds the pellets?

I think I'm dealing with the same crap. You raised your Magnesium levels right? How high did you raise them and for how long?

I dump the Special Blend into my return section and my return pump is also the feed pump into my pellet reactor. I don't dose much, I started off with the recommended amount and I just dose a capful a week.

If it is bryopsis, it's not just the raised magnessium levels. It is Kent M you need. It is something in there formula that does it. I raised it to 1600, was shooting for 1550, just overshot a bit. I will say, if it is bryopsis, get on it quick because that stuff spreads extremely fast.

Just posted this in the SPS forum, does anyone know what's going on?
