Dont you have other things to transfer from another tank?

Yeah I have been slowly adding the inhabitants from my 29, I have been trying to catch my blenny but have been unsuccessful. I don't plan on adding my target manadrin, only because I am afraid he would starve. Just been going slowly.

Started my ecoBAK journey today. Added an Eco Plus 396 pump to feed into an AtomicReef TMR-200P reactor and added 200 mL of ecoBAK and will slowly get up to the desired amount. Any helpful hints about the ecoBAK?

Added 200mL of ecoBAK to get up to 400mL, removed the BRS Dual Reactor and added an AtomicReef TMR-150P reactor for carbon and moved all but one fish from my 29 over. Having some hair algae issues, ordering a Hanna Phosphate checker along with some Alk. reagent. Wondering if the hair algae has anything to do with taking out the UV sterilizer. Hope the ecoBAK will kick in and start taking down the Nitrates and Phosphates, not really expecting it for another two weeks.

Nice progress.

Nice looking tank you have going there. I subscribed to this thread so I will get to see your progress. I just got a 120 (48x24x24) and hope to start it soon, looks like its going to be a lot of work.

i wouldnt have added more ecobak till the 200ml had started working. but algae is just from the nutrients has nothing to do with UV.

With the tank being fairly new, I dont think his phos and nitrate levels can be all that high, so adding more after 2 weeks or so, probably wont matter. There is not enough levels to strip...know what I mean?

Nice progress.

Thanks.

Thanks, I like the depths of the 120's.

Well the UV would kill some of the algae spores and might have slowed the spread, was just wondering if there was a parallel.

When do you think I should get up to the full running amount?

I would let what you just added run for 2 weeks, then add a little more for 2 weeks. Then add the final amount.

Typed from my phone, because I have nothing better to do.

I am at 400mL right now and plan on running around 600mL, so you think like in two weeks add 100mL then two weeks after that the remaining 100mL? Thanks for the input Chris.

I thought you were gonna be running more than that. just go ahead and add the 200ml one more time.

Its 1000mL per 200 gallons. 110 plus sump is around 125 or so. So I figured around 600mL would be about right.

Exciting day in the life of my reef. FIRST FISH!!! A tiny Yellow Watchman Goby. And yesterday one of the MH bulbs burnt out and so I got a new one from AC and it was labeled a 14K and it's much whiter than the other bulb I have which was sold to me as a 14K as well. Will it blue up as it breaks in?

Are they the same brand bulb?

I don't believe so. I may just buy another one from AC (the whiter one) and change out the T5's to actinics instead of the Blue+ that I have now. The few SPS that are in there seem to have better polyp extension than they did before.

Although the bulbs may have the same k rating they still differ by brand.

Remember to acclimate the corals to the new bulb.

Thought that might be the case. Whats the best way to acclimate? Just slowly up the photo period?
