Is the paint actually safe to be in water. Currently painting pipes on outside of sump but not sure if I can paint the pipe going into the waterPlan on painting all the plumbing (with krylon fusion paint, which has good reviews on being reef safe if it's in the water) under the stand blue to match the skimmer I got. And the pipe in the overflow black possibly, undecided on that since it's being covered with black acrylic anyways. (Yes I know it doesn't hold well with silicone to glass, but I've done it before with success.)
I'm interested in the backup battery/ tender. Could you provide a parts list you use to create this? Finally got the wiring routed and labeled! Complete with a deep cycle battery hooked up to a battery charger and maintainer, and inverter that runs the heater and return pump so I have a constant battery backup if I ever have a power outage. The pump and heater will keep running in case of power outage with no interruption! I've tested the battery previously on my current setup and it ran my fx6 canister filter and a heater for 3 days straight before starting to show low battery.
The sliding drawers for the dosing containers and food/test kit shelf was my partners. Definitely makes the build that much better!
All that's left before the move to the new house is to get the screen top built! Paneling of the stand is going to happen after the move.
Krylon fusion paint is reef water safe after it is fully cured. So it needs to be 100% cured first before it can be submerged and the only paint I know of that is widely used under water on pipe work on reef tanks is Krylon fusion spray paint. Is the paint actually safe to be in water. I live in wild fire country and they cut our power for a day or two ever year. Last year was 8 days total. I need a plan. Sooner than later.
I have the AIO. Is that the same you usedKrylon fusion paint is reef water safe after it is fully cured. So it needs to be 100% cured first before it can be submerged and the only paint I know of that is widely used under water on pipe work on reef tanks is Krylon fusion spray paint.

That would be the one! Just don't put it on parts of the pvc that you want to glue cause then the joint will fail. I glued all my pieces first and then taped the parts I didn't want painted and then sprayed. I forgot to tape off the ends that glue in the bulkheads though so I'll have to go back and clean the paint off those spots before I can glue them in place.Correct the paint and primer by Krylon Fusion
Yeah I made sure I taped everything off before painting. I appreciate the responseThat would be the one! Just don't put it on parts of the pvc that you want to glue cause then the joint will fail. How about for painting sump. Very crazy but would like a white sump including the baffles without having to spend hundreds of dollars on oneYeah I made sure I taped everything off before painting. I appreciate the response
White baffles? Why do you want the baffles white? You could try the same type of paint on the baffles but I chose to leave mine just plain glass. They're just gonna get dirty anyway. I wrapped the outside back and sides with white vinyl to create a clean look but left the inside of the tanks just bare glass for the sump and refugium and ato. The way I look at it the inside of the glass would get dirty and scratched regardless if where it is in the sump. The vinyl on the outside was easy to apply and worked well to give it a clean white look. How about for painting sump. Thanks. Fun yes a bit. But I'm now on a time crunch since we move in 2 weeks. So more stressed than fun at the moment. Will be good once it's done. It's truly a sickness...lol! I'm always scheming my next build. Looks like your having fun here. Congrats!
