2 MP10 ES on a 34g Solana... Placement?

I was wondering if anyone has a 34g Solana with 2 MP10's already, or maybe someone else has a cube with 2 MP10's with similar dimensions to a 34g Solana (20" x 20" x 20").

What would the best placement be for 2 of them. I currently only have one, but found someone selling another for $150 and couldn't pass it up. Is 2 too much for my tank?

Coral livestock: Dominated by chalices and z's/p's, but I have quite a few SPS frags as well.

I am going to draw up a quick little diagram of how my tank is set up... should be fun, as I am not very creative :tongue:

Haha, pretty much was what I was planning on trying first. I am worried about the dead spots in the two back corners of the Solana. I don't know why they designed the back sump the way they did, but the design is in a way that there is no flow hitting the two back corners. I just need to make sure when doing water changes I clean out the back corners where all the detritus collects.

All chalices are on the bottom, and not too much flow hitting there currently with the one, so I don't think an additional would do much damage. I am mainly concerned for my SPS at this point, as they are the only thing I have been having troubles with. I just look at my tank and some SPS are getting good flow, while others aren't. Probably because I have them spread out too much and don't have the best placement for my single MP10. If I end up thinking it is too much flow, I will just hold on to it for a future build or will sell it.

I am mainly concerned with the top half of my tank near the back where the SPS resides. Everything else is lower on the rocks or in the sand bed.

I've got two MP-10's in my 36g Elos Midi. I started out with just one, but I had a couple of deadspots that were essentially unavoidable due to the aquascape. So I added a second, and the flow is greatly improved. I keep one unit on the side of the tank, about 3.5 inches below the waterline; it is set to EcoSmart Nutrient Transport mode, with a programmed wave setting saved from the short pulse mode, at about 85 percent power. The second unit is on the back of the tank, set to ReefCrest mode, about 4.5 inches below the waterline, running at 70 percent maximum power.
I find that that the Nutrient Transport mode is pretty helpful at keeping detritus suspended, and my corals and I really like the vigorous wave action. The placement of the second unit on the back eliminated the dead areas, and the variable reefcrest flow adds a nice bit of randomness that really seems to complement the Nutrient Transport mode.

This is a great idea! I will see if I can fit it into my aquascaping somehow. May need to move some things around a bit.

I have a 30x30x30 tank with five vortecs two mp40w ES and three MP10w es. I do keep one MP along the back wall all the way down to the point where it cant go any lower. It pushed along the back bottom and under alot of the rock work. It comes on for five minutes every hour and does a great job.
