I think I am going to take the camaro shows advice about buying slow with the tank. I kinda am doing that with my fw slowly converting them into just indoor ponds. I am going to save money so I can actually get the cool fish and inverts I want instead of going cookiecutter and buying a cheaper version of a fish that might do bad things

Setting up your RODI-
Id first call your water department and find out what they are using to treat your water specifically. I live in AZ. We have 9 water treatment plants just in Phoenix Valley alone. And some plants in some sectors use different chemical to treat water than others.
Pentek sells a filter designed to specifically remove Clorine/Chloramine. All you do is pop it into your prefilter stage. After sediment stage. Preferably after 1 micron block 2nd stage.
Id highly reccomend getting a 3 canister DI from brs and set it up as described by them in there videos.
Your going to get out what you put in and Source water is #1 where it all starts.

Not sure how works in america but in uk we can go online and get latest water reports which usually updated every 2- 4 weeks.this mine from 30/4/21.
This should be enough info right ?

Ours does that too but there are multiple sources. Some say there is Chlromaine some say there isn’t.

should I 24/7 drip phyto from a culture or dose with a cup?

Keep in mind only a small percent of the phyto will go to food and more will settle and die and become waste.

Process with caution. Personally I would not drip and instead target feed the organism small amounts with a pipette so less is wasted.

FWIW I'm using the Aquatic Life RO Buddie 4 stage RO/DI unit, and it seems to be doing fine so far. However, my water is very soft out of the tap at about 30ppm TDS. And yes the DI part is very important. RO alone is not enough.
