Hello! I am in the early stages of planning a roughly 200g custom tank in my basement. The current plan is to purchase a 66x30x25” glass tank through glass cages. The tank will be built into a wall so I plan to go with a metal stand with adjustable feet. I don’t want to go with the stands provided by glass cages—they’re extremely expensive.

I contacted Framing Technology, Inc. out of NY. They quoted $1000 before shipping for the design attached. The aluminum would be 45mm x 90mm for the top part of the stand and 45mm x 45mm for the legs and lower parts. Does this sound sufficient. They said they could go bigger if needed and add additional feet as well.

Thoughts? I’ve never had a tank this large, nor an aluminum stand.

My 300 gallon has a wood stand. Its a planet aquarium. I was looking into a metal stand but this system popped up on FB for a great deal so I went with it. Dream tanks .com does custom stuff too and they seem a little less expensive on stands (still a lot!) but maybe see if they could make just a stand? I only looked at a tank plus stand not a stand itself.

The issue with building a wooden stand is that my concrete is not level. It is highest in the center of where I would put the tank, and then slopes down on both sides. The metal stands are appealing because of their leveling feet. I’m no engineer, though, and not sure of the stability that this would offer long term.
