To continue my yearly tradition I put forth to you this question:

With Christmas fast approaching New Years and 2017 aren't far behind so, with that said what are your reefing and tank goals for next year? Keep going with the current plans? Starting anew? Any nice fish or corals you hope to add? Let's hear what you're hoping for in 2017!

If your 2016 (personally and reef related) were anything like mine 2016 is a year to forget.

2017, making reefing great again.

I spent the first year of my new 200g focusing on the fish...running small batches through QT etc. etc. I have a bunch of coral in the tank, but I was so focused on the fish that I haven't focused enough on water quality and keeping things perfect for growth.

So this next year - I want to switch gears to seeing results with the coral. That means managing nutrients much more closely, setting up a kalk and/or CO2 system, fine tuning my Radions to make sure I'm optimized there etc. I'll consider this year a success if I can see some good growth in the SPS and zoas spreading etc.

My 2017 goal is to get my tank to look like a successful reef. Right now I have a lot of bleached sticks. I've bought a few T5s to supplement my Kessils and am going to try the Zeovit system.

I think my goal is to be content with the tank I have and to make it as awesome as I can.
For me, that means being more disciplined on the water changes and more consistent on the feeding schedule. Also, managing parameters better.

For me, at this point, I'd be happy just being able to program my dosing pump. Seriously considering throwing it in the trash.
