Entertaining Saturday evening .
Watching fish attack themselves in the mirror .

the scalpel on a yellow tang would probably hurt pretty bad .

Lol I feel like everybody’s first tank is always canister filters…
It’s been years since I’ve started reefing .
and many builds later , I’ve finally decided to make this post .

a little back story first .
my first marine aquarium was in the early to mid 90’s
Corals were cheap , back when yellow tangs were $19.99 Canadian dollars .

I’ve progressed from a 75 with canister filters , hob corallife skimmer , to a 90 gal bow front .
I didn’t like how tall the tank and stand was so sold it , bought a 90 gal and built a stand the height I wanted .
Maintained it for years and had some very nice sps corals . All thriving , growing .
sadly after a separation that tank crashed .
started up again shortly after and ran it for a few more years . Just to develop a leak flooding my apartment . And that’s when the 230 gal upgrade build started .

this particular tank I decided to use a lot of the same equipment on
8 bulb t5 48” fixture
Jeabo dc return pump ( 15000L)
The skimmer is a Mrc MR2 with a dc jeabo 9000L pump
Tunze ato
And for wave makers I re used the same jeabo crossflow pumps ( 150 and 180 )
