24 gallon AIO Rectangle Possible Future Inhabitants

I have had my tank for around two months and have a pair of clowns. I have been struggling with losing my cleanup crew members but tank parameters are fine and there is plenty of food. Why might this be? I did just recently get a ton of new snails as well as hermit crabs. Even before all the new competition I lost all four of my trochus snails within a week. Have lost a ton of the new inhabitants but should be stabilizing itself. Also I plan on getting a watchman goby and pistol shrimp this weekend. With my tank size and amount of current fish/inverts how many more fish could I have and what would everyone recommend. I haven’t thought past goby and pistol shrimp.
Any and all help is greatly appreciated!

If the tank is only 2 months old, the snails may be dying from lack of food or algae for them. But hard to say without seeing pics of the system and exact water parameters.

The number of inhabitants depends on the parameters, size of the fish, and aggression of the current tank inhabitants. A pair of clowns in a 24g system could be an issue since they can be very territorial.

I can't say for sure, but what might be going on is that new tanks often grow Dinoflagellate algae, some of which are toxic to snails and other critters. It's possible you may have a toxic species of algae, and it's killing off your snails. Again, just a possibility that could explain this.
