240 gallon Super Reef

Hello Fellow Reefers,

So after moving to Arizona and taking a 5 year hiatus i decided to get back into the hobby (foolishly perhaps?). Tank is currently cycling, so i figured I'd start a build thread to help pass the time.

TANK: 72" x 30" x 26" eurobraced from Advanced Acrylics.


STAND: 40/40 Aluminum T-Slot made by me. 40 inches tall because i hate bending over to look at the tank. I've built many stands out of wood before so want to try some thing new. I'm a fan of this stuff. Weighs next to nothing, easy to cut and saves so much room below for equipment.

Here is the rock scape i settled on. Been holding onto this pukani rock for a few years now. Its a shame you can't find this kind of rock any more, its so light and easy to work with.

Mixed tank is my initial plans, have some Arco's on the the high side of the scape and some lps on the sand bed and lower portions of the rock.

Thanks... I always done multiple islands in the past. I think i prefer this better.
