Found a great deal on a used 245 GLA show tank 72x30x26. Starfire glass front and sides. Drilled,Two 2in drains, Four 3/4 returns ..one will be a emergency drain. Also has two covered with glass, two 2in drains I won’t be using on the bottom. Not sure of the brand of overflow but it’s 20x7 and only across the top center back. I believe it was setup for a bean drain. Stand is solid but needs skinned. I’ve had it two weeks and I’m rolling along pretty good. I had a 125 mixed reef 3 years ago...after losing so much in a move. I sold everything. Any advice or opinions are welcome. This will be my first sump system and it will be in the basement with a fish area. Tank is on the first floor.

It’s time to add a calcium reactor. My soda ash consumption is at 70mil a day now and going up every week. I never thought I’d see... A 8.5 ph mid day. I ordered a Deltec CRTT 3000. I can’t wait to get it online.

Are you going to continue to dose soda ash and calcium chloride to try and keep pH up with calcium reactor?

I’m hoping my PH stays high enough that I won’t need to. From what I’ve read the Deltec shouldn’t lower as much as others. I have a few ideas if my PH does drop to much. Put some cheato in a basket and have the reactor drain right into it...cheato uses up the co2. Hopefully that will be enough. If not I’ll go with kalk water. This will be all new to me. I’ve never had a cal reactor.

Awesome build! Excellent Work and will be following!
Much appreciated. I will get pic heavy soon. I have over 70 sticks. And a lot of coral in my QT system. Everything is really thriving now. Can’t wait to get everything added into my main system.

Deltec is here and installation has started. Very impressed with the build quality. I also found some reborn for media. I still have to buy some 20lb co2 tanks.

I went with a 40 breeder for coral QT after the 25 lagoon. It’s been a nice upgrade. So far even sticks have survived in it for 77 days. Something that was hard to do in the 25 for some reason. But I’ve also gone to a weekly 50% water change in it from my main system. I think thats kept it super stable.

I also have a fish only 135 for the coral eaters...And my sohal that was the only fish to survive velvet last summer. When I restocked my 245 he was to big and aggressive for the new additions. So I bought a glass cages 135. And used the extra equipment I had. It’s in the basement by my fish area. I have a home gym across from it. And It’s great eye candy in between sets.

The iphone pics don’t do my corals justice. But here’s some pics I just took. The growth is very noticeable. I took out a few rocks full of zoas to make room for some nice additions in QT right now. Hellfire, dragon soul torch and some nice TCK sticks...Thunderbird, Swizzle stick and Warhammer. Also a RRC Elektra. I may pull some of my starter sticks if needed. Most are mounted on small rocks I can move to my 90 frag tank.

The Deltec calcium reactor is online. I absolutely love it. Now more mixing and dosing 3 part. And I also started the KZ product line a few months ago. The colors are really popping now. A few Daylight pics.

Big things to come. Two more Advanced Acrylics 6xx2x1 frag tanks. That makes 3. I’ll have a SPS, LPS and Zoa Mushroom tank. I can’t wait.
