Thanks yes I was pleasantly surprised considering I didn’t think I’d get 100 on the sand bed.

I am running

Channel 1 100%
Channel 2 90%
Channel 3 50%
Channel 4 30%
However I think I am going to drop channel 3 back to 30% and channel 2 up to 100% getting a fair bit of algae growth

You should take another PAR test after you make the switch :). It would be interesting to see how much of an effect that has throughout the water column.

I actually did today! It had quite an effect on PAR dropping about 50-100 overall. Still getting 500 at the top of the rock work but only about 80-100 on the sand bed. SPS area still getting between 250-300 which is good but I did have to up the kessils to 80% intensity. I’m going to probably work up to 90-100% to cover for the drop in PAR

You have a really nice tank, I have enjoyed going through your build.

Thank you! Still have a long way to go but it’s been an exciting journey so far!

UPDATE:
A quick update of some of the corals added into the QT tank this week. LPS this time plus some starfish, turbos and hermits. Really keen on some more SPS frags so they will be my next purchase.

Also had to move my scribbled Rabbitfish on as a) he just couldn’t get along with the foxface and b) kept munching my showpiece sinularia but swapped him at the LFS for a stunning blue spot rabbit. He seems much more docile similar to my foxface so Hopefully they get along.... fingers crosssed
Also in the TTM tank is an established mandarin from a long tank, bangaii, swallowtail angel and an ember blenny who’s showing some bacterial problems, treating him but not confident but we shall see!

That's quite the drop in PAR hopefully the kessils can pick up the slack. The tank is looking good, can't wait to see more inhabitants added after QT!

I’m hopeful! But the lack in PAR should hopefully reduce that algae build up and the colour is much better. No side effects fr the corals thus far so lets see how we go!
Yes can’t wait to add some new fish, the angel and rabbit have already struck up a nice friendship in QT so will be good to see how they go in the display, plus they are eating like pigs. Haven’t seen the mandarin eat prepared foods yet but I’ll keep trying, luckily he’s already fat from his previous owner just hope he can make it long enough.

My new project has been to put in an algae turf scrubber, it’s coming along nicely so far however I am still waiting on the mesh to come in, couldn’t find any locally so had to order some online. Should be here tomorrow fingers crossed

It looks awesome! I don't have any criticisms though because I don't have one myself xD I wish you good luck!

Haha thanks yeah I’m an ATE virgin myself but I’ve heard some really great things about them so I thought it was time to set one up myself and see what results I get. My algae hasn’t been growing too much as my GFO is taking out all the nutrients which is **** for the corals but being such a young tank I am going to leave it in there for a bit longer and feed heavier for now then start to slowly remove it over a period of time and hope this thing can pick up the slack

Apologies for the lack of updates I had a Brooklynella outbreak in Quarantine and wiped out 5 new fish. But on the positive side this is why we quarantine fish and I’m glad I didn’t have a complete tank crash!

But not all lost as I have a new batch of fish in quarantine that started tank transfer yesterday
- Choats Wrasse
- Cleaner Wrasse
- Banana Wrasse
- Whipfin Fairy Wrasse
- Swallowtail Angel
- Blonde Naso Tang

Hopefully all goes a lot smoother this time around.....

Had to make a fair bit of modification to fit the filter roller but will be totally worth it now not having to clean and replace filter socks....

Wow it has been a while since I posted an update! Tanks been running pretty well the last year or so. Quite a few new inhabitants and the corals have gone mad even after constant trimming! A couple of quick pics tonight.

Here is the current fish list and how long they have been in the tank. Can’t believe these clowns have been with me for almost 4 years!
Haven’t added a fish in almost 8 months…. Must almost be time? Haha
