Ok I have a 28 Gallon EcoSystems Mini. It is an AIO tank. I am going to be moving in about 3 weeks and was thinking of changing the tank drastically. I want to remove the false wall with all the "filtration" in it. By filtration I mean AquaC Remora Skimmer and return pump. I do have some rubble back there but no more then maybe 1/2lb. I have thought about the surface skimming and I do have the box that goes over the skimmer pump to skim the surface. I would basically be able to make my tank another 3 to 4 inches deep. Is it a good idea or does having the false wall just make the tank look better?

True you would see the heater and then I could not use my fan because the piece it is part off sits on the false wall. Maybe I will just cut a baffle out of it to make a refuge back there.
