Hello - I got an EM/RF meter some time ago out of curiosity about signals in the home. I ran it by the tank and was blown away by a 280 mG reading on my Deltec skimmer. This is considered a very very high reading.
Has anyone else checked their EM/RF readings on their tank? Specifically a Deltec Skimmer? Any ideas on the impact of that on the micro-organisms in the tank?
Edit: Ive been skimming (pun intended) some journals, and it looks like it doesnt have such a great impact (Quelle surprise). While it can enhance denitrification - it also kills a lot of sensitive bacteria. Im wondering (with no proof yet) if this may be a contributor to my never ending dinoflagellates battle - if the skimmer is killing of the 'good bacteria' in my tank, leaving it open to other invasive species.
