I think having sand opens up your choices for livestock... I like to have an area for clams, sand sifting fish, tongue corals, etc... There is a lot of activity on the sand I think I would miss.

Beautiful tank and great progress so far. I just came across your aquascape in a different thread and wanted to find your build. I'll be following along as I have a similar project on my hands.

Regarding your comment on how to skin the AGE stand, I'm in the same boat and thinking of doing a white acrylic. But we're also buying new furniture for the room that the tank is in so that may play into things a bit. Acrylic vs. wood just depends on personal preference and your other decor.
