Well some more toys arrived maxspect gyre Xf350, used mp60 and my Octo SRO 5000 skimmer this thing is huge. Also received some more rock 20lbs of shapes and 40 more lbs of regular rock from an amazon deal I could not pass on. Got notification today that the tank is scheduled to arrive at WWC Friday. They will be delivering to my home once they have a opening in the schedule. I guess I better start looking at return pumps and pvc parts.

Today was finally the day thanks to @WWC I’m able to start building my dream tank. I feel like a kid on Xmas morning. Can’t believe it’s actually here

Planet sent me the wrong bulkheads with my drain kit so while waiting for the correct ones to arrive I decided to start working on aquascape. I was looking more for a back to front feel to create depth when viewing the tank. I also wanted at least one side open for an acan garden, wilsoni and any other sand bed corals. I’m still going to play around with it as I do want some more real estate on the sand bed in the front for other corals. I’m open to suggestions this will be a mixed reef.

Im so torn between the lighting decision right now. Originally I planned on using 4 48” photon V2, then the other day I saw the noopsyche hybrid kit and thought to myself that would look great but don’t know how I feel about having fluorescents. The noopsyche lights themselves interest me. Then today while looking at fish on Live aquaria I notice they still have AI 52 in stock and on clearance. I wonder how many I would need for this tank as I do like those lights and always have. So right now it is between photon V2 and AI 52. I’m open for feedback.

Photons are great lights. I like Noopsch but they’re quite small but good output. Radion will be coming down in price as new generation about to be released.
I live my Orphek units. Even the Orphek bars should work

Well decided to buy a crap load of pvc parts and pipe just to a mock up plumbing setup. I’m doing to so to guess how I want my setup and also to determine how many actual pvc parts of each kind are needed before I place my order if I decide to go with color pipe and schedule 80 fittings. I will not be doing a ball valve as it will be a gate valve for the main drain. Still waiting on my other pump to arrive so that I can plumb both pumps along with the manifold and arrange the setup of the UV sterilizer along with my GFO and Carbon reactor. Before I proceed I would like to hear some thoughts on the plumbing I’m thinking of adding two additional unions right at the sump.

Well picked up a little something to keep me busy until all of my plumbing parts come in, two 75 gallon water storage containers for my soon to be mixing station. I was able to source these local in central Florida for a really good price.

I just bought the same exact containers. I don’t really know anything about plumbing. What size plumbing did you order for that?

Awesome, I was so confused on what size I had to buy. I took pictures but still unsure!

So excited to get this done, all has arrived hopefully I did not forget anything else, I realized yesterday that I forgot to order two slip x threaded 1 1/2” unions so I created my own grabbing an existing white union and painting one side with gray krylon fusion spray paint. Those unions willl be attached to the return pumps you can barely tell the difference once in the sump

Just sitting here on the couch as the glue dries before I move on to the next piece and thinking to myself the dream tank that is about to come true. I love this hobby

Well I’m gonna stop and continue tomorrow so far both drains are completed and glued, one return line is glued, manifold is built. Tomorrow it’s to finish off the last return pump and while the glue dries start filling the tank with special grade sand and then finally to start filling her up.
