32+ head hammer help

I have this piece in a mostly sps "acyo" tank. And at night my lil hippo goes inbetween the stalks to bed down for the night. Almost every night he knocks small pieces of the hammer off which then sometimes end up in mr acro. It starts to burn them if I dont catch it in time. My question is can I fill the stalks with spong or something so he cant get in or am I going to have to sell the hammer. I sure would like to keep them both but I like my ACRO much more then the hammer. So what you think?

What about using underwater epoxy to keep them in place. If you dont want to get rid of the corals. You could always get rid of the fish

I cant believe that you have a hammer higher up in a tank than an acro...but I guess it is working.

I would move the hammer to a different location. These things area almost always in the sand with me, sometimes shaded and they are still my best growers.

Turbo, I am thinking they mean that little pieces of the hammer's flesh are actually tearing off and not as much "frags" of the branches.

I would suggest moving it to a location a bit further away from the Acro as well. You oculd also try to make a better hiding spot for the fish.

Move it below the acro, you'll probably have even better expansion of the hammer if lower lighting!
