No you’re right it may very well be a hermit, they could use the algae as footholds to climb around. Yeah some hermits even go so far as to eat them, that’s why I moved mine down there.

I picked up corals from PDR today, we talked for a while and he showed me around the tanks, they were so nice in person. I’d highly recommend him, especially in the future when his setup is all ready for more people. I’ll post pics when the corals are in the tank and out of their float bags, and the anemone a bit later when he’s done acclimating. It was great meeting you, can’t wait to have a bigger tank with more room for frags.

Here they are semi opened. They really are looking great even now. The flow in the tank is off, I want to let the anemone get a firm grip first. The sinularria (hope I didn’t butcher that too badly) is looking amazing under my photon. I’m probably most excited about the toadstool though, he’ll look amazing when he decides to really open up. All I need now is a clam to have a truly mixed reef, it’s one of the more diverse small tanks I’ve seen and I’m happy with that. At the moment I have:
- a pretty good zoa/paly collection
- an awesome softie collection now
- a decent lps selection
- a good sps group
- an anemone
- a feather duster
I suppose I also need a sponge or two on top of the clam.

Got some more of those awesome palys in the frag chamber of my sump, hopefully they’ll take off down there.
Palys are really fast growing , and can take over a tank if not kept in check .. I’ve actually just got rid of all mine because of that reason..

Well the anemone (as anemones do) was either pushed or crawled under the rock, it took me a bit to find him and move him back to the top of it (and block the way down there) so that he actually has the light and flow he needs.

FWIW I have never had any of my Mini Maxies hide long enough to cause any issues (just the dumb RFA's lol). If it goes into hiding again, I would leave it be for at least a week before trying to find it.

Didn’t see this till now or I wouldn’t have intervened, I’m glad corals don’t behave like this. I moved him yesterday after I saw him crawling back into the shadows (I don’t want him down there because not only is there no light, there’s also an angry pistol shrimp) and moved him. I put him by the feather duster. He is happy there and is expanding out.

I have a clown in the tank that’s never been aggressive towards me but when I moved that anemone he went ballistic and started biting my hand as much as possible. I think he has claimed it. He won’t let any of the fish near it, however he doesn’t ever touch it or get too close to it.

Got an app on my phone that allows better photos for aquarium. I like it pretty well. All my new corals are nice and open. Here are some pics as well as one of my brand new fish, a clown goby. Also there is a pic of the last hermit crab in my tank.

As many members of the forum encouraged me to start feeding my fish I picked up some LRS nano reef frenzy. The clownfish and the wrasse really enjoyed it, the clown goby didn't move at all, and the watchman only peered out from their cave (I'm almost certain they have brood). I mixed the food with phyto, zooplankton, polyp-booster, and reef roids.
