Hey there everyone. Dont really post on here much, but i just started my dream build and thought i would share my progress and answer any questions to the best of my ability if anyone needs help setting up a large dt with a basement sump.

Tank is a cad lights artisan II 165g. Lighting is a giesemann aurora. For filtration i have it plumbed into the basement where the first chamber is a 150 gallon stock tank. This chamber is where i intend to use corals for the first stage of handling the bio load this tank will have. I have it plumbed to create a lazy tidal pool. I will house cheap acans, lps and sponges here to filter the water. I will hang a simple t5 over this tank on a reverse schedule to the dt.
The stock tank drains into a bashea sig series 48inch sump. I am running a reef octo regal 250 sss with the newer dc control with float switch. Return pump is a vectra l1 and flow in the dt will be 3 mp40 qd...possibly a 4th. Will be setting up apex and creating a board for chord managent this weekend. Thanks for looking and happy reefing!

Looking good so far!!
I love those bashsea sumps!!

Interesting idea to filter the water with a separate coral tank. What are your plans for the display? following along!
