365 Gallon Pennisula.

So hello everyone. Sorry for the long silence. So its been a busy month. The tank finally arrived in one piece and I had to wait another week for the landscapers who took delivery to deliver it to me including craning it through the first floor window. So I am now in the process of doing all the plumbing and getting everything else connected up. Since my last post i also ordered some new stuff including a Sander 200mg Ozone unit and Schego air pump to run it. An 80W Deltec UV sterilizer, and a C02 scrubber and after a hassle with customs imported enough media for it from the UK for around 2 years. So now i just have to finish off all the install and i will be ready to fill it.

Yeah already been dealing with the pain of the 63mm fittings. It’s not a lot of fun at all. Been leak testing as I went and had to mod one of the bulkheads as the seal was not working. If it was 40 or 50mm it would already have water. As you have an even bigger tank how did you do the initial fill. I don’t have any 1500 liter tanks to mix up so will probably do the scape add the live sand and then start filling with rodi and add salt as it fills. Any idea would be appreciated. As all of my previous tanks in oz were filled and salted and then the scrap was with live rock so was done underwater

Plumbing isn’t one of my strong points. It took me a few weeks to get the initial plumbing done, esp since it was my first time doing PVC actually.

I have a 75gpd RODI so it took me awhile to fill and tested for leaks. Hindsight, I should have just fill with tap water, test for leaks, drain, and refill with RODI. It’s just faster, easier that way.

I’ve started with 50% new water and 50% old water and rocks. Even so, after 2 months in, I somehow introduced velvet to the tank and it wiped out almost all the fish…sigh

Good luck with yours.
