Is the cloud a pay to play kinda thing? Short of that it sounds like im in the market for a Bambu printer
Bambu cloud features are free, or you can go to LAN mode and take everything offline, OR you can go to dev mode and integrate with other stuff.

They got a lot of negative press with some recent changes but in all honesty it was a nothing-burger for anyone using Bambu’s slicer and/or app. My printer has been kept up to date and hasn’t missed a beat.

Another vote for Bambu, I have the X1C and A1 Mini and couldn't be happier. I agree the whole firmware thing is over blown. Shame they've raised the prices the last month due to tariffs, I paid $252 with tax for my mini on 4/10. I will say it's still worth the price at $359 but would probably jump to the A1 for $499 if it was me.

Bambu does have a $60 off coupon for either the A1 mini or A1 so that makes it a bit better :)

I'll probably go to the full size A1 as I know myself well enough to know i won't be happy with a Mini the first time it limits something im trying to do lol

I'm the same way, the bigger bed is nice. I only bought the A1 Mini to print minis on so I wouldn't have to swap the nozzle on my X1C. Pure laziness on my part :beaming-face-with-smiling-eyes: Also just an FYI since you were asking about the AMS, the A1 in the fall will be able to use the enclosed AMS and AMS2 after a firmware update instead of just the AMS lite.

If going Bambu Lab, I’d wait and see if they lower prices now that a trade deal has been reached. They raised the price $200 for the A1 combo . I paid $450 last year for one. That is a solid multicolor beginner printer. Creality came out with a clone of the A1 called the “Hi” also.

Anyone got any recommendations or things to look for in a 3d printer? Im not looking to spend mucho bucks on my first unit, but would like to try to dabble with one. Was looking at this? I have no idea what im looking at though and was told it's pretty decent by a consumer guide site.

On a previous thread I was asking the same question don't know what you mean by mucho but I found a better bamboo for 700 Canadian

Slightly off topic- have you used CAD before? There’s an unbelievable amount of amazing stuff on Makerworld et al but being able to draw even basic 3D shapes in Fusion 360 enables levels of bracketery that rival Project Binky.
I've never used CAD. The closest thing is i've designed a couple things in sketchup

I was wondering about that myself. I know we're back to our previous tarrif agreements(or close to it) again so wondering if prices will start dropping.

Tinkercad is a good program to get your feet wet! It’s very simple and basic to use. (100% free to use and works straight from your browser)

From Bambu -
Hi Community,

As a direct result of the recent U.S. tariff reductions, we're passing along significant savings across our entire collection.

We need some time to make the adjustment and plan to make it effective this Thursday, May 15th at 5 PM PST. For non-urgent customers, we recommend delaying purchases until then to lock in the new pricing.

Thank you for your continued support!

That makes me feel like it's a pretty decent company! Many businesses would just say "we gotta sell off our stock that cost more to make, so prices will come down eventually but we don't know when" or something along those lines. Think i'm set on the Bambu now

I would say they are a very decent company. They carry a full set of spares at good prices and when they had a problem with the A1s they made it right.

Im running a 2nd hand Ender 3 V2. While it takes constant tuning ive been able to make all my reefing gadgets from random flow nozzles, loc lines, frag racks, etc with PETG filament. Paid $70 for the printer and probably $30 in consumables so far with nozzles, filament, bowden tubes, extruder gears, etc. Spare replacement parts are super cheap so if you like to tinker this is good unit, but always fixing something...

Looks like the A1 Combo dropped from $700 to on sale for $550 or you can buy just the A1 for $400

I saw that, but they took away the $100 coupon so essentially it's like 50$ off lol. Not too bad but not any "significant savings" lol. Still gonna get one i think but I feel like i expected more haha
