The first fish are in!! They seemed a little nervous at first, but they found eachother after a few minutes and just swim together all over the tank. I feel so much better now that the tang has some room to swim!

I received a box of goodies from @REEF EXCLUSIVE today. Got a couple corals, and a few fish. They are going into qt and the frag tank. More pics to come of the fish later

Another lesson learned the hard way…
The trigger must have been a little stressed from shipping and a new tank after arriving.

It took out its stress on two cardinals that were in the qt tank with it. I’m sad about the fish that died. But the trigger seems to be a little more settled today than yesterday.

Overall, I’m still excited to have this juvenile goldenback triggerfish, and watch it mature into its adult coloration.

I took a couple pictures on Fathers Day while staring at the tank. The PBT looks pretty good, but I want her to get FAT! So I keep nori in there all the time, then throw some pellets in there every now and then when I walk by, and feed a frozen mixture every night.

The other fish are on the clock with their copper treatments. Can’t wait to add the other fish in there!

The rest of the gang is in the tank now! The only one left in QT is the goldenback trigger. It has had 37 days of copper (went a little over cause I was out of town) and is now on the first round of Prazi.
The Powder Blue tang was not happy about the yellow and purple at first, but I turned the lights off for a couple of days and let them settle down a little, and now they all swim around together and feed off the Nori clip at the same time.
The PBT has for some reason taken a disliking to the Roseband fairy wrasse. I haven’t seen any tail slapping or anything like that, but there is a little chasing here and there.
Anyone have their tangs chase wrasse before?

My female Genicanthus Caudovittatus has begun transitioning into a male also! She has faint stripes starting to develop on her sides. Gonna be fun to watch her change.

haha. I love that they finally have some space!
The irony of course is that most will probably find their favorite spot and hang out there the majority of the time (yes, we're talking about you marine betta...).

These two developed HLLE while they were in QT from what I’m assuming is from copper exposure. I had to start my 30 day period over when the copper fell below therapeutic levels, so they were in for longer than I was hoping.

The purple tang has almost fully healed up after a few weeks post copper treatment, and a week in the display. The yellow tang looks a little better than before, but still has a ways to go, if it can fully recover. Trying to keep nori in there full time!

Got some new additions in the mail today. I have been looking for a masked swallowtail Angel (Genicanthus Semifasciatus) for a while , and I had asked @Trinh Fish & Corals to keep an eye out for me months ago. They followed up with me earlier this week that they found one! I picked it up and pair of captive bred mandarins. Beautiful fish! Into qt they go!

You may find (as I do) that with such a large tank your mandarins will spend most of the time spelunking in the rocks! :beaming-face-with-smiling-eyes:

Still very pretty fish (I also have a bonded pair).
Haha. Yeah, I kinda like the idea of them being a fish that’s like “where’s Waldo?” I want to get a few more gobies and small fish that are that way.
How long have you had yours for?

I've got 2 of those, plus "Carl" (a Sankey's dottyback). My wife's name is Lorrie, and she can never find Carl... :rolling-on-the-floor-laughing:

The male we've had since May 2022 and we got him a female companion this June. I previously had a really nice pair of mandarin dragonets but sadly lost them both to velvet back in early 2021.

The Trigger is out of QT, and in an acclimation box in the display. I hope it plays nice when I let it out.

Anyone else pick up one of these Juv goldendback triggers and have any experience with them in a reef?

The Angel and mandarins are on day 10 with Coppersafe. Angel seems to be doing great, but even before I started copper the mandarins wouldn’t eat.
I have tried different size pellets, mixture of frozen foods, ROE, and masstik. I even pulled my filter socks out and picked some live pods off of them and put them in the qt tank. Not sure how long they survive in the copper though..
Any tips would be great!

Also, my female leopard wrasse is no longer a female! I noticed her face starting to change color about 10 days ago, and now he is full coloration! Love it!
