I have a 40 gallon breeder reef tank. I have got some corals now. I have this current usa light which has worked but I was now looking for something a little better for corals. I have a glass top on the tank. Im not really looking to spend over $300. What would be some good options.

@noopsyche makes some really nice reef lights for the price. I believe they are on sale as well. I run 5 on 2 separate tanks with great results. Best of luck :)

At your price point best to go w/ the not so premium brands:

Nicrew hyper reefs, smatfarm, or the nicrew marine strip lights are the budget lights I would reccomend. The current USA lights don't pull as much wattage as the nicrews if I remember correctly and I think they just aren't as good.

Would I need one or two for a 40g breeder?

Two of both would be best. Spread them apart so they are closer to the edges. You shouldn't need to run either at 100% so that means they will last longer. I haven't used the noopsyche though but they have a great reputation here. If you prefer hanging a light, quanta or reef bright pro bars would work well. Two of those could work.
