Zoanthids live saaaale!!! It was fantastic, I sprung for a mystery box (the cheaper $100 version) and I was BLOWN AWAY. I got their new release inceptions ($500 value) plus the Ketchum’s and Oingo Boingos!! Next time they have a live sale, you can be assured that I will be there and that I will get another mystery box!! The packaging was incredible, the best I’ve ever seen by far

Here’s what all I got:

Everything came in healthy and happy, fantastic zoas and very vibrant colors! I don’t run Clorox blues (just a moderate amount of blue) and these babies POP! And the best part is that they are identical to the picture provided during the sale which isn’t something I can say for a lot of online vendors. Great people over at zoanthids!!

Because of the recent Dino situation (which I don’t actually think was dinos because it’s almost completely cleared out already), I took advantage of having no corals and requascaped! I went for more of an arched design that will better suit my new plan for the tank. By this time next year, I hope to have a pair of pipefish and at least one Madagascar coral croucher. I plan on getting all my fish through Mike at quarantinedfish.us, because I don’t have the means to properly quarantine and I don’t think that I would do it right even if I did.

I think I’m also going to get a single flameback angel to finish off the tank which brings me to a pair of clowns (flurry and Wyoming white), the pipefish (single or pair), coral crouchers (single or pair), and the angel

I’m going to get a 10 gallon refugium (super oversized) set up around Christmas so it’s got plenty of time to start producing pods before my pipes arrive! I also put lots of live rock into my sump today while I reaquascaped so hopefully that acts as a pod hotel. I’ll be dosing phyto and pods 1x per month for at least 6 months to make sure the population is very established before I even think about ordering the pipes. I’m going to get blue line or janss, unless someone has a better option for me :).

anyway, here’s the new aquascape. It looks really dense in the pics but I ended up taking at least 10 pounds of rock out.

the only thing I’m 100% on in this tank is having a pink tipped elegance in the front right corner, it’s base being on that small island and creating an umbrella effect off the rock. The rest is most likely to be zoas, Octospawn garden, hammer garden, various torches, scolys, and of course clams! I want at least 3 clams in here so I’m gonna need to get a calcium reactor soon to provide them with enough calcium. I’m thinking 2 crocea and 1 maxima but it’s all gonna depend on which clams look the best. I’m also gonna be adding a few sps pieces in here like my Walt Disney, red planet, and maybe a few new ones like a shortcake or tort of some kind. I’m not really an sps person but I think that they can be very stunning due to their growth patterns! It’s gonna be a long road for this tank but I’ve got big plans!

Another (shorter) update, I am sad to tell y’all that the pink buubies chalice died due to the dinos. I really loved that piece it was very vibrant. The pink zipper Grandes aren’t doing the best, but are producing very fast. The polyps are closed and I’ve done some H2O2 dips with no improvement. The space chaos from ARC never opened and melted away unfortunately as well :(.

on a lighter note, my inceptions produced their first baby! It’s doing very well and looks amazing. The rest of the zoas are doing fantastic, making babies and being perfect. They’re all currently in my 20 gallon (check my other build thread for that!) and it’s crowding my other zoas so I’m hoping that this tank is ready for them to come back soon!

Now that the aquascape is a little more settled, I put in a bunch more corals! Nothing too crazy yet cause honestly I don’t really trust this tank after the dinos thing but there’s definitely been some changes! FTS to start everything off

so as y’all can see, I moved a couple zoas in, put some chalice in, put my Red Planet colongnd put the fox coral back along with a couple other pieces that I have better pics of later :)

Fox is definitely getting some green in her! Hopefully it starts developing a little quicker but she’s

moved the yellow Octospawn from the 20 into this tank to alleviate some of the crowding from the hammers. Also put a bleached frogspawn in and it’s doing pretty good in here! Way better than it ever was in the tank it came out of, hopefully it makes a full recovery

and some pics of the fish cause that’s really all I got in terms of coral. So pretty :) Obviously, these pics are super doctored because the fish are so white. They reflect a lot of light back at me so I have to edit the pics to make them look white again instead of glowing or blue

And y’all can kinda catch a sneak peek of my 25 gallon lagoon through the glass of this tank. No build thread for that one but if the people want one, it shall be done.

I’m gonna get some cheato in the sump before Christmas and order my first set of pods + phyto by January. Getting ready for a pair of pipefish next December!

Hey y’all. So I just inherited a 45 lagoon! Was in really bad shape. It was SPS dominant but there was ZERO polyp extension and most are either totally bleached or dead altogether. The only one I have real hope for is the Walt Disney which still has good color and you can see the tips of polyps if you squint real hard. Here’s the tank after a massive water change (70%) and some glass cleaning.

What light is being used on this build?
