4x39 tek fixture over 40breeder questions

I have a 40breeder im setting up and am pretty sure im going with the 4x39 tek 5 fixture, will the leg's that can be purchased seperately be ok? im worried cuz the 40b is a bit shallow. 18" deep

also the bulb combo im thinking/been suggested.

ati purple plus

it really depends what you're trying to grow in it. If you're aiming for chalices and lower light stuff, that teklight will burn them.

check out my tank threads here-the first one not so much, but the last two tanks more so. The first is almost a 40 breeder (it's a 30 gallon) while the second is a 20L. On the 30 I have the teklight and am growing out SPS's, high light Acans, and Zoas, while in the 20L i have a much less powerful light which is where I keep my chalices, rainbow Acans, and lower light Zs & Ps.

As for bulbs, I like the combo of

1-10k-14k
1- pure actinic (something less than 400nM, usually a deep purple color, not to be confused with the whiter "fiji purple" type bulbs)
and 2-blue actinics

Gives the tank a really rich blue look, grows all corals IME pretty well, and I'm very pleased with the colors it pulls out.

Should I just get the hanging kit then? that way I can adjust the light for my needs? I have no idea what corals I plan on keeping.

Id like to get a clam maybe some day, I like some of the zoas?palys? Im not sure, Im new to corals and there identification.

the clam will be stoked under that intense lighting, and the zoas and palys it just depends what types. I'd recommend hanging kits as I feel they look nicer, that said the mounting legs that tek sells are adjustable quite a bit so you can raise it up higher if you like.
Other thing you can do too is create a rock structure that has overhangs and "caves" that will allow you to place lower light corals somewhere they like
