DAY 1 - Finally set up my Fluval Evo 5g and began the cycle process today! Even though there's nothing in there, I still can't stop staring at it! I managed to fit 6.6lbs of rock in there and I'm super excited with how the rockscape turned out! [emoji170][emoji225]

DAY 2 - The water cleared up and I added a Hydor Koralia Nano 240gph for better flow throughout the tank. I tested the parameters today and Ammonia was beginning to go up and was at 0.25ppm. That piece of shrimp always works great! I'll give it 1 or 2 more days then test the water again and remove the shrimp. [emoji170][emoji225]

DAY 3 - I added a water heater because the temperature in the tank was dropping at night, but now the temperature is too high (83 degrees). Tomorrow I'll try a smaller water heater or maybe unplugging it during the day when it gets warm and plugging it in at night when it gets cooler. Also the shrimp is getting gross so I'll take it out tomorrow and check the parameters. [emoji170][emoji225]

DAY 4 - I removed the shrimp from the tank today after 3 days. It was super gross and stinky! [emoji40] I'll cheek the water parameters tomorrow. When I woke up, the water temperature was at 84 degrees! I definitely need to buy a smaller/lower wattage heater. For now I've unplugged it and the temperature is at 77 degrees.

Very nice! Is that the stock light or an upgrade? What are your plans for the tank? About to start a 5 gallon myself :)
Yay awesome! Stock light (11000k). 1-2 fish, 1-2 shrimp, snails/hermits to keep things clean and countless corals! How about you? When are you starting and what are your plans? [emoji170][emoji225]

I am moving the livestock from my 6 gallon at home to my dorm room. Livestock are 1 firefish goby, 2 pom pom crabs, a few lps and softies. Hoping to get some mangroves and sps in the new one. What fish were you thinking? How are you going to filter it/ keep params in check?

It came with a sponge filter, carbon filter and biomax. So with that, and the 6.6lbs of rock, and small bi-weekly water changes, and weekly parameter checks, I hope to keep it stable. [emoji170][emoji225]
