Four possibilities come to mind:
- Overeating
- Constipation
- Internal infection or growth (tumor, Lympho, etc.)
- Swim bladder disorder i.e. gas bubble forms in the swim bladder region
All of them are dangerous, I would say 4 is more dangerous or as dangerous. Is number 3 the only dangerous one for the fish?
Funny I've had a 6-line for about 2 weeks and haven't been feeding very much but just noticed his/her belly was swollen. Also he's bigger after 2 weeks. I just figured he found some bristle worms or ate the amphipods that used too populate my tank...if he is overeating there isn't much I could do too stop it.

Update: swelling went down and returned to normal, but man it was big!
