you could actually probably get away with keeping the clown and goby(?), as long as you get a good filtration system (best would be made for a larger tank), and are diligent with water changes.

Im actually in the process of getting mine.... still new to this part of the hobby, but I know a lot from research. 20-25x whole turnover rate is plenty.

I do have to ask because I'm curious, how is the clam doing? my tank is moving to be more sps dominated AKA why I have such a high filtration rate and water movement but I've yet to venture into clams. Id love to know more I'm very interested in getting one.

I dont have clams, but they are moderately easy to care for. Make sure first you have no fish that will harm them. read up on them first.

Clam is doing fantastic I've got two 80gph pumps meeting each other in the middle and a deflector rotating a 120gph return, 280gph turnover so this tank is movin! I also water change a solid gallon a week. Zero filtration just a fuge and a sponge in the back I rinse out weekly. I also want to see what I can do with sps in this little thing. With proper husbandry it should be doable. Lemme know how it goes for you

Do you just have the one fish? This is an awesome tank. Great job on it! Do you see a better result with the fuge than with the actually filtration that the tank came with? Also what type of light do you have on the fuge?

Just the clown, the goby was removed when the sps was added. I wish I could tell you I get better results with a fuge but the truth is I've never used chemical to compare, used a little carbon once but that's it. I can honestly say I have never had a tank crash as long as good husbandry was exercised. The light on the fuge atm is the original tank light asta20 it's kept on whites 24/7.

Contemplating a rescape, flow has become an issue in the back corners and it's becoming a detritus trap

I decided against the re scape for now but I am cycling a few rocks just in case and I moved the clam, he wasn't attached so I'm assuming that means he didn't necessarily like the spot he was in.
