Hello R2R!

I created an account yesterday and introduced myself in the meet and greet forum.

I have never started a tank build thread before so this will be my first. My tank is pretty much setup and has been running since late November of 2015. I had a 200 gallon mixed reef prior to my current setup. My old setup was 30 inches tall which made it extremely difficult and frustrating to do tank maintenance. Which is the reason why I opted for a shallow cube this go around.

Many people prefer upgrades in this Hobby so I guess I am one of the few reefers that downgraded, lol.

Just a little about myself. I have been in the hobby since summer of 2010. I started off with a 210 gallon tank and have had several different tanks through out the years. I have several ups and downs including two tanks cracking and flooding my house.

I am a family man with 2 young children, full time job and a 4 month old maltipoo puppy that keeps me very busy. =) So my setup is very simple. I do not have a fish room so I keep all my equipment under my stand.

A little info about my tank. I have 40x40x12 glass tank. It was built for me by my friend who is a LFS owner. It is made of 1/2 glass with black silicone. I have 1 inch holes in each corner with a over flow in each corner. In the center I have a 3/4 hole drilled for return.

A list of my equipment includes:

2 radion gen 2 pros
Building an obsession AIO 20 gallon ato w/ 3 dosing containers attached
Apex unit with lab grade ph probe and temp probe.
Apex DOS for ALK and CAL
BRS doser for MAG
Trigger systems 36 elite sump
Cadlight TIA 1350 skimmer (BEAST MODE skimmer) =D
2 Jebao rw 8s
TLF 550 for Carbon

My tank consist of all Tonga branch rock with the center piece being over 30 "'s tall.

Currently at work so to be continued... =D

Hello R2R! It has been a while since I posted. i was dealing with a bad case of aefw a while ago. I qted all my sps and eventually lost the battle. I was unsuccessful in retaining most of my sps. It was a difficult time. Fast forward my tank is still up but it is more lps dominated. I have an addiction for acans more specifically bowers.

I just wanted to share some photos of my tank currently. Enjoy and God bless!

Thanks for the warm replies guys. I just ordered a couple more nice colonies from kushcorals.com. Can't wait for delivery to add them to my collection.

Anyone else running an acan garden? I would love to see pics.
