Those look really nice. I was looking at lunars or halequin tusks but blueheads might be a consideration. Do they need sand, already had to rule out dragon wrasse bc of the sand issue. :(

I have a Lunar Wrasse in with the Bluehead. When it comes to sleeping in the sand, I’m afraid I have to plead ‘ignorance.’ I HAVE sand, but also a ton of rock work with all sorts of nooks and crannies. Just what they do at night...?... beats me! :rolleyes: (Lol)

Well the fish have become a lil more active, minus the fox lol since the lion went in. Not sure if they are just if its temporary, but its been nice to see!

I've decided on a harelquin tuskfish, they have one in the shop near me but it seems to have ich. They had it for about 2 weeks and its eating fine and active, so maybe its worth to QT? I would be able to get it for $100-110.

I am bias, because I would love to have a Harlequin Tusk (and will one day), but for $100.00 I'd buy him, put him in a QT, let him acclimate, then use CopperSafe with a Hanna Checker. In other words, I'd personally take the gamble. :cool:

I'll clean out the qt and start preparing then. Never did copper treatment so this is something to learn lol.
Do you run fans for cooling? Im split on adding one to sump, one canopy or both. I got a old crappy fan blowing into the sump area, but it really isn't helping.

Depending on whether you can get your hands on a couple of cheap 30 gallon tanks, you might be able to use the Tank Transfer Method instead of Copper. Do your R2R research (lol). Best wishes with the Tusk!

Use copper power and a Hanna checker it’s a breeze!! Read @HotRocks or @Humblefish thread on qt methods and it’s not as hard as it seems. Personally I would get the following.
Copper power, Hanna checker for copper, general cure, focus, ruby reef rally, and some safety stop.

Picked up the tusk, still debating on if I will do copper treatment, just dosing some prazi while he adjusts and eats in the mean time.

Tusk didn't make it. Been trying to find iut what went wrong but can't pinpoint what the cause was. Might be something got in the water, but could just be bad luck.:confused:

Terrible news. I was hoping that the longer he hung in there, the better the chance for a positive outcome. Ironically, you inspired me to finally pull the trigger and buy a Harlequin Tusk of my own. I saw one at about 3” long when I stumbled into a LFS in Ocala, Florida. Only $125 and very healthy, so I grabbed him. So far, so good. Very sorry for your loss!
