I am a 5th grade teacher in Pierre, SD and we are building a reef aquarium in my classroom. We are just getting started and have purchased all of our equipment. I am lucky enough that I have a store owner/former teacher/marine biologist that now owns a coral business that is flying out to help us get setup. We have 2-90 gallon tanks right now. One will be used as a QT/hospital and the other as the display tank. My students also built a website on which we update their research and do daily blogging on.

I will be responsible for guiding them and taking care of the financial side of things, but ultimately it will be the students doing the testing to make sure water parameters are correct and feedings during the day. I will be in the classroom all summer since I coach, so I will assume the responsibilities then. We have our QT up and running, the display tank will be put together on the 7th-9th so we can start the cycling that tank. I'll keep you updated as we get going in the next week or so. You can check out the kids page at https://classroomcoral.weebly.com for updates as well!

We just finished our display tank today...I think it turned out pretty nice! A great addition to our classroom!

Coming along nicely! Got my 1st shipment of livestock in the QT waiting for the display tank to cycle!
