Hi all , i am purchasing a 90 gallon tech used. He has a outer orbit 2x150 DE mh , with 4x50 t5's and 9 white/ 9 blue acentics. Is that going to be enough supplementing for a mostly if not all LPS tank? I plan on doing a DSB at least 4 inches. Any suggestions welcomed. Its a brand new in the box light. Can i do sunrise to sun set with this light? He has an AE tech 30 gallon sump and a AE tech sump buddy 40(skimmer) . Anyone have any experience with these and ony comments. Thanks for your time guys .

It will be ok but like the 65 you were considering it is a deep tank. If it were my choice I would do 2X250 watt but since you have the 150s it is worth trying.

You can use the T5s and LEDs to simulate sun rise/set.

The skimmer looks a little lack luster to me. I would look to upgrade that when you have the cash.

That light will be more than enough for you if you are doing mostly LPS. And it has the seperate cords to allow you to do the dawn to dusk effect with it.

awesome , do you have any comments on those sump/refugiums? i know bigger is better. i may try to incorporate an external 12 gallon refugium if space lets me. also , should i go with 20ks on the halides and supplement with white on the t5s? i hear it's just a personal option , but i want to get some sick pop out of my chalice and my zoo's

those outer orbits can be modded fairly easily from 150w to 250w. i had the same light and upgraded to 250w halides with icecap ballast. just throwing that out there should you find you want something a little brighter.
