how is that light working for you refugium
It started out working really well. Problem is I added Carbon and GFO reactors and I have zapped the nutrients out of the water column. Now the Chaeto is just kind of holding its own. Before GFO I did observe some really nice growth on the Chaeto.

Carbon makes a huge difference. I’m thinking about getting rid of the sand and gettting marine pure blocks. I also need to work on fuge water flow so my chaeto will turn.

Sorry for the lack of updates. Job has kept me traveling and I hate for things not to be nice when I take pictures but I will just go with what I have!

Loads of new corals as you can see here! I just noticed that my long polyp leather is mad for some reason. My guess is a snail.

This is my current favorite view. My new Dead Pool Rhodactis Mushroom and Australian War Paint Scoly!

This started out as my Zoa garden but I think the lights and the height of rock is too much. The new Rasta frag ran right off the frag and off the rock and is now on the sand bed! Check out the new Itter Chaos Paly! Love this!

This is a firecracker clove poly I got 2 week ago. It has doubled the polyps! Glad I have it on an island rock!

A friend of mine sold me all but one of the corals on my frag rack! I actually got the Grafted War Coral free with the Dead Pool mushroom from WWC. Those guys rock! I’m also saving up Acans for a garden I want to start on the sand bed. Found a nice flat rock at the LFS that will work perfect. More to come on that later. Also have some blastos and Favias I have no idea what to do with.

Having good growth in this pic. The Duncan’s are doing great as is the candy cane. Got my first SPS sour apple birds nest too.

My sump remains my Nemesis. The chaeto all died and disintegrated into millions of pieces. I ordered some Pom Pom garcilia from algae barn to give this one more shot at nutrient export. It has a massive pod population for sure! Also I added an Avast Kalk Stirrer. This has been a home run. Fixed the ph issues I was having and stabilized it at 8.0 average from 7.5. It also solved the pump issue I was having with the tons aqualifter pulling kalk from the water reservoir. The only problem with the new Tunze osmolator is the kalk creates a film on the water sensor that has to be cleaned monthly. Pain in the butt.

Just a quick update. The fish and corals are all doing well. Seems I cannot get zoas and palys happy but the SPS and LPS are doing very well and growing. I even got my scoly back on track. The Fauna Marin pellets have made a huge difference as well as lowering the temperature to 77.5 for now. I will probably lower it again to 77 soon. Trying to do this very slowly. I also moved it to lower light area. I finally saw the feeding tentacles out last night for the first time in 6 months. I am very happy! Love me some scolys and plan to add a bleeding apple scoly soon. I have a full video on my YT channel as well. Link in the sig.

Oh no! Where did you get him? Did another fish introduce velvet?
Yeah pretty sure it was a wrasse I introduced. Been living on the edge with QT all these years and finally bit me. Had to restart the fish population and now I QT. Thinking about QTing my coral as well before adding to DT.

I may try another Whitetail if I decide to add a tang.

Im getting ready to set up the same tank. My concern was not having an emergency drain in the overflow. It looks like (from the pics) you utilized both lines in the overflow for drains and ran you return outside the tank. Great idea, can you confirm that’s how you set it up?
Thanks, Ryan

That's how it was done. I cut mine out, plugged the holes in the bottom with a sheet of glass and copious amounts of silicone and drilled it for a fijicube overflow. Looks better, takes up less real estate and is dead silent.
