if I run a barebottom tank, can I get a clam? I run an SPS dominated tank (albeit still developing but all of them are alive and doing well), so I have good water flow, and my lighting is pretty good (as I am close to getting it dialed in).

I'm not getting a clam anytime soon, but would it be ok on the floor of the tank? how do you know where to put it if it can go on a rock?

This is my current rock layout.

I have clams in my bare bottom. My deresa attached to one of those ceramic clam discs, and my hippopus just chills on the bottom. And my maxima is in a clam discs up on the rocks. I like the clam discs so during acclimation they attach to it, then if you need to move them higher up like a maxima or crocea you dont have to worry about byssal threads

I would get Crocea or Maxima on the rocks up high. The others are OK on the bottom, but might need a cradle to keep them upright.
